Local patients help non-profit reach milestone

Most people go in for their routine dental check-ups expecting a free toothbrush, not balloons and confetti. Sisters Ava, 7, and Lily Middleton, 5, received special treatment on Tuesday though.

The sisters were the 100,000 and 100,001 patients at the My Community Dental Center. The local center is one of 36 centers statewide who have been scheduling new patients since 2006 in an effort to reach 100,000 children served. MCDC also has centers in Coldwater, Three Rivers and Sturgis.
