Doug has led national dental support organizations since 1996, most recently as CEO and Vice Chairman of Affordable Care LLC (“ACI”, d/b/a Affordable Dentures & Implants).  Twenty-five years ago, Doug organized a group of industry leaders into a study group, which led to the formation of the Association of Dental Support Organizations (“ADSO”). Since its creation, Doug has held leadership positions with ADSO, including President and Chair of the Government Affairs Committee. He currently serves on ADSO’s Executive Committee. Doug previously worked for Arthur Young & Company, several large retail companies, and a management consulting firm that he co-founded.  He holds a B.S. and an M.B.A degree from Duke University and the Fuqua School of Business and serves on ten boards (both for-profit and non-profit). He is Founder and President of Local Start Dental, a non-profit dental clinic and dental learning center recently opened in Durham, NC that is a collaboration between the UNC Adams School of Dentistry and several businesses serving the dental industry. Doug is on the Advisory Boards for the Deans of the UNC Adams School of Dentistry and the UIC College of Dentistry.  He is married and has one son and three grandchildren, and enjoys hiking, golf, skiing, and Duke basketball.
